On 1/18/19 Soldotna based State Troopers received two separate reports of a phone scam. The individual called and advised they were a State Trooper and the person missed Jury Duty. The caller then proceeded to advise the individual they needed to pay fines so they won’t be arrested.

The caller will ask the individual to pull cash out of their bank account and buy some type of gift card. They will ask you to read the number to them and destroy the number after you read it.

There are many different phone scams currently taking place. If at any time the public receives a phone call an needs to verify if it’s a scam they can contact their local police department or State Troopers 24 hours a day at 907-262-4453.
