Tuesday, July 2, from 6 to 8 PM, the Big Lake Public Library will be hosting a Tree Felling and Chainsaw Safety Workshop, presented by the Cooperative Extension Service.

The damage the spruce beetle outbreak has caused means many people will be cutting down trees in the coming months. Learn how to do this correctly from UAF Field Forester Glen Holt. Topics will include:

•Chainsaw operation and maintenance
•Necessary safety gear
•How to make tree cuts
•Bucking logs and more

This is a FREE workshop, but participants must register by calling 745-3360.
