Troopers recover stolen vehicles in Houston

On 11/09/2018, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence in Sutton. Investigation revealed Rory Vail, age 29 of Wasilla, stole a 2000 red Chevy 1500 in Sutton, forged the title, and registered the vehicle in his name at the DMV. Further, Vail was on electronic monitoring and after contacting Pretrial Enforcement Division, Vail’s ankle monitor indicated he was at the residence in Sutton and then the Eagle River DMV the following day. Vail and the stolen pickup were located on Cattail Drive in Houston. Vail was arrested and remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

On 07/10/2018 at approximately 2:14 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a report of stolen Citation camper valued at $35,000 from Valley RV Center in Palmer. On 11/09/2018, Troopers located the camper on Cattail Drive in Houston. Investigation revealed Rory Vail, age 29 of Wasilla, was in possession of the stolen camper. Vail was arrested and remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
