Big Lake chooses a bypass route

Big Lake CityThe Big Lake Community Council has selected Route 3A as its preferred route to move traffic from the proposed Knik Arm bridge around the community and onto the Parks Highway.

At least it's not running through the middle of town. Traffic is already a nightmare.

I know the bridge isn't built yet, but with the railroad going to the port, and the growth in the area, planning now is a good thing. The borough is already planning for the township site at Pt. Makenzie. There are many other plans as well. Thanks for posting this info so we may be better informed.

Sell naming rights to sections of the route to help pay for it, also they have to keep it clean.

I'd like to see the landowners of the properties along this route, and all the routes. I bet someone has some land that they hope will become valuable and are pushing for this or that route.

Why not take the route down Johnson then on established roads to KGB? This would be less pioneering of roads across swamps. Or build the road along the railroad that is going in?
