November 24, 2014, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell lauded the Department of Energy for authorizing the Alaska LNG Project to export gas to Free Trade Agreement Nations. In addition to exporting gas, the Alaska LNG Project will make gas available to Alaskans through off-take points in Alaska.

“This is another historic step in a project that will create thousands of Alaska jobs and fuel our homes and businesses,” Governor Parnell said. “I am very proud of the work that has been done by my administration and the Alaska Legislature, advancing the Alaska LNG Project further than any other time in our state’s history.”

Under the Parnell administration, the State of Alaska is aligned with the companies that have the state’s gas under lease; the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation, which is authorized to carry Alaskans’ interest; and a premier pipeline builder, which has invested in the project.
