Status Report from the Division of Elections re: Incorporation of Big Lake

Big Lake City

The Big Lake Times has received the following information from the Division of Elections:

The counting of Absentee and all mailed Ballots has begun and will continue until 6 pm today. There will be a 2nd count on November 6th, and a final tally on the 12th. These will include all the mailed-in ballots that were postmarked as of today.

For additional information, please visit their website at http://www.elections.alaska.gov or call the Region II Mat-Su Office at 907-373-8952.

The Big Lake Times will post information as it becomes available, please be patient with the process.

This just in: "Hello,

This evening by 7:00 pm all ballots received through Monday, October 26th results will be posted on our website. Since ballots can be sent and postmarked through today, the next count for those ballots received today through November 6th will be counted on November 6th and our web page will reflect the updated count. Because of possible ballots being received later, sent from overseas etc., we will count those ballots on November 12th. The plan is to have the Election certified by November 13th.

Sincerely,

Julie J Husmann

Region II Election Supervisor

[Ed]

I hope that when this is over no matter which way it goes that we can still come together as a community. Big Lake is growing and changing, no denying that.
