Anchorage woman leads Troopers on High-Speed Chase

Police BlotterOn 05-25-17, at 2:27 am, AST received a call from APD reporting a black Dodge Durango had eluded APD officers heading northbound on the Glenn Hwy. APD reported the vehicle was last seen at 2:14 am hours at 18 mile of the Glenn Hwy traveling northbound at a high rate of speed without any headlights on.

At 2:54 am, near mile 76 of the Parks Hwy, Troopers located the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle immediately accelerated to speeds exceeding 100 mph and continued northbound. A second Trooper joined in the pursuit which continued northbound until mile 102 of the Parks Hwy where a Patrol Intervention Technique was used to immobilize the vehicle, a 1998 Dodge Durango, operated by Katie Jones-age 31 of Anchorage. Jones was arrested without incident.

Further investigation revealed Jones was intoxicated and subsequently provided a breath sample revealing a BrAC of 0.198%. Jones was transported to MatSu Pretrial for remand and charged with Reckless Driving, Fail to Stop at Direction of a Peace Officer , Assault III, and DUI. Bail had not been set at the time of this press release
