'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over'

AnnouncementsThis weekend, the Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers will continue to participate in the anti-DUI campaign 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over'. It is an annual High Visibility Enforcement campaign that runs through the Labor Day Weekend. Troopers, along with municipal law enforcement agencies like the Anchorage Police Department, will be out on the roadways patrolling for this national campaign through Sept. 4.

From 8/16/2017 through 9/1/2017, Troopers made the following contacts:

- 40 misdemeanor DUI arrests, 0 felony DUI Arrests

- 25 drivers charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license

- 118 REDDIs reported with 29 drivers contacted and ultimately determined not to be DUI

- 100 damage only crashes 12 injury crashes and 5 fatal collision were investigated by Troopers

- Of the 1012 citations issued, 545 were issued for speeding and 31 issued for seatbelt or other occupant restraint violations

Please do your part in keeping our roadways safe this weekend by not driving impaired by alcohol, marijuana or any other substance that can cause impairment or drowsiness.
