Public NoticesThe Chulitna River Personal Use Firewood Area for mixed sawtimber is available on a first come first served basis beginning Thursday, February 8, 2017. Access to this site is from the Parks Highway just past MP 122. A $25 permit is required and may be obtained from the Land & Resource Management Division between the hours of 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri. beginning Thursday, February 8, 2017 at the Mat-Su Borough Administration Building, located at 350 E. Dahlia Avenue, Palmer; and at the Trapper Creek Library during normal business hours. Please contact the Trapper Creek Library at 861-7650 or TrapperCreek.Library@matsugov.us if you have any questions regarding their hours of operation. Please be prepared to provide the year, make, model and license number of all motorized vehicle(s) or trailers to be used while harvesting the timber when you go to get your permit.

The permit must be in your possession during the removal of wood from the site. The cost for each cord of wood is $25 with a maximum of TEN cords per household per year from the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

The permit will expire after all available wood has been removed but no later than December 31, 2017. Please call the Land & Resource Management Division at 861-7869 if you have any questions.
