HHS Gun and Outdoor Show 2017

Education and Local School Newsby Lisa Humphreys, Houston High School

Hello Vendors! Only two days until the show set up – Hope you are all ready! We will have set up from 5-9:00 pm on Friday the 21st or you can also come from 5:00 am to show open at 10:00 am – as long as you can be ready for the show to open on time. We do still have a few spaces available (only about 8) so if you aren’t signed up there is still time.

We once again have two door prize guns (Thank you so much to Three Bears Alaska for that donation) that we will be giving away – the first 300 people paid through the door get a raffle ticket for the drawing so it is always very busy in the morning.

We will have a hospitality room for our vendors only in Locker room 3 with free coffee and doughnuts starting at about 7:00 am.

Alaskans are encouraged to express their priorities for public education reform in a new online survey at https://gov.alaska.gov/education-challenge.

The survey is the first step in the State Board of Education’s participatory process to meet Governor Bill Walker’s Alaska Education Challenge: to establish an efficient, sustainable, and comprehensive system that will provide an excellent education for every student every day.

On Jan. 18, 2017, in his State of the State address, Governor Walker said, “We must do a better job of preparing our youth for the challenges of the future. To meet this challenge, we need to rethink our entire system of public education. Alaskans must be at the heart of this effort.”

HHS Gun and Outdoor Show Wrap up

Education and Local School Newsby Lisa Humphreys

Houston High School and the Big Lake Lions Rec Center would like to thank all of our vendors for participating in this year’s Annual Houston High School Gun and Outdoor Show! The Show was a huge success and we have already scheduled the venue for next year. We had just about 1200 people attend as paying customers and 77 different vendors on site! We appreciate all of you working with us again this year.

We are already planning next year’s show to be bigger and better! The dates for next year’s Show are April 22 and 23rd, 2017. We will be doing a little bit of changing of the layout for next year’s show to make some things work a little better, and if you have already reserved your space we will do our best to keep them as close as possible to your preferred location. If you have not already reserved your space for next year Houston High would like to invite you to reserve your vendor booth early!
